just wanted to note that 2.4 seems broken, at least in Fedora for some setups
of wireless networks:

a fix in 14.04 seems reasonable, maybe by upgrading to 2.3 if possible.

Closing as fix released. I landed wpa 2.4 in wily.
As for wpasupplicant, closing as Won't Fix. Precise has an old
wpasupplicant version but it's unlikely to get feature releases given
the number of differences between versions.
