I fixed this two weeks ago in bug #1425297 but the MP was rejected for
RTM.
If you want to whisper in someone's ear to get this re-considered, the
MP is https://code.launchpad.net/~charlesk/indicator-dateti
I'm also occassionally having this on vivid. I've seen other indicators
fail like this as well. To restart them run:
$ restart indicator-datetime
