Like march already mentioned: A workaround would be if the users are able to change the order of a the phone numbers of a contact (see bug #1469508). Then, the user can at least influence which number is used as favorites. Up to now it is always the first one. But which number is placed on top is

We have implemented support for favorites number in the past. But we discovered that could cause some confusions for users. And we removed this option. I will add designer team on this bug, they can explain the reasons that we decided not go on this way. ** Changed in: address-book-app (Ubuntu)
