Here is what I have done (prior to receiving your most recent email) ... I
tried upgrading the nvidia drivers but could not because I had a very old
card. I purchased a newer one (GeForce GTX 660), installed it, rebooted,
upgraded the nvidia drivers to 346.96, rebooted and found the problem
