I have seen this again yesterday and today, I only see it on arale and only
when it was actively charging
In the last case the messaging app was the last active app, dialer and camera
were also running
The phone does turn screen off on its on
I previously suspected the camera somehow but could n
I've witnessed this so often on the N7, i'm confident in saying - no running
apps (just dash), b/c i often have just flashed the device, become distracted
with other work, and left it sitting - and notice it light up.
It always autodims in ~1min, i suspect the inactivity timer.

I'll try to reproduce this locally using the upcoming USC version with
more logging ([1]). Hopefully the USC logs along with the powerd logs
will give us some more information about what is going on.

1. Do you remember if there are any apps running (perhaps in the background)
when you see this?
2. Does the screen stay on forever after it turns on, or do they inactivity
timeouts eventually turn the screen off again?

Pat has seen this on MX4, I've seen this very consistently on Nexus7.
I would say the Nexus7 screen would turn on by itself every couple of hours
or so.
