Marco Parillo, thanks for that. Looks like yet another distinct issue with apport?! It wouldn't hurt to try a earlier supported version of Ubuntu (not Kubuntu) via http://releases.ubuntu.com/ to see if we can get something out of it. Just make sure you have the xdiagnose package installed, and cli
