Hi - thanks for the bug report!
It looks like you may have a modified /etc/apt/apt.conf.d/50unattended-
upgrades file. Possibly because you upgraded from an earlier release?
I'll attach the file from one of my pristine 16.04 machines. Can you
adjust yours to match and see if it fixes things for
