Public bug reported: Ubuntu 18.04 after a fresh install i've noticed that there are several packages, that although seem innocuous, if removed will remove the entire desktop with it. The following example contains an attempt to remove gstreamer as it was install unintentionally with the extra software checkmark on install. However, attempting to remove gstreamer will also remove the desktop? That doesn't seem correct.
sudo apt remove gstreamer1.0-alsa gstreamer1.0-libav gstreamer1.0-plugins-bad gstreamer1.0-plugins-base gstreamer1.0-plugins-good gstreamer1.0-plugins-ugly gstreamer1.0-pulseaudio libgstreamer-plugins-bad1.0-0 libgstreamer-plugins-base1.0-0 libgstreamer-plugins-good1.0-0 libgstreamer1.0-0 Reading package lists...
