Yes, I just fixed a similar problem, old amdgpu drivers were earlier in
the LD_LIBRARY_PATH for newer versions of x utilities. This caused
quite a few problems getting X working properly.
best to find the directory whre there are amdgpu drivers, and use dpk -r
to remove ALL of them. I removed ab
I hit this too in my upgrade from 20.04 to 22.04.
I think it's because I had old commercial amdgpu drivers installed:
