I do not see that error. Trac works fine on Solaris10/Blastwave after
setting the LANG environment variable in the tracd startup script.

I had a very similar problem under Solaris 10 with trac 10.3. It
failed with a null pointer in the same routine. The problem could be
solved by setting the LANG environment variable to en_US.ISO8859-1.

I solved this issue by explicitly setting LANG for the envionment of
