ahoy all,
have been looking at various tracker-utils and associated man
pages/FAQS/forums/etc, trying to find a way to
control/pause/throttle/etc the trackerd from the command line (i.e. from
a script). can someone point me in the right direction or at least let
me know if it is possible?

We're making it possible to pause the indexer using DBus, so using
dbus-send it'll be possible to do this (for example).

Philip is right, you can use DBus (or d-feet the application to use the
interfaces we expo

As a user of both, I would suggest that such a feature is not only
turned off, but that it be disabled. If neither can work when they are
both turned on, then the feature is really more of a bug, at least
that's my impression of it...
