Any news of whether or not this will get backported to gutsy? :-)
I'd like to get it backported, as I can't upload a patch to gutsy-updates to fix

Thanks for the tip. Using gstreamer was what was required.
It'd less confusing to an end user if tracker detected these missing
dependencies and stuck a warning. I saw in the output of configure that video
searching was enabled with xine, nothing about audio and since I was using
Beagle
I didn't get the error, but tracker returns no hits/results either when I
search on an artist's name. What else do I need to install to ensure mp3's
are ripped. I know that it visited the directory containing the mp3 files.

Hi Jamie,
I have gstreamer and gstreamer-fluendo-mp3 plugin installed. I can't find any
other program to install for gstreamer and mp3 for gstreamer version 0.10.
What do you use ?
Thanks,

Hi Jamie,
I appreciate your promot responses.
I have that installed already. I did ask it to reindex (-R option), but I
still don't see any hits from media. Here is a sample of what I get when
trackerd is working:
indexing #1000 - /stuff/mp3/Dire Straits/Sultans Of Swing (Disc 2)/05 -
Sultans
When I forced tracker to index only the mp3 directory, it seems to work fine.
Without using the -i option, I've specified the mp3 directory as an
additional watched directory. Is that the problem ? I did see tracker spit
out some messages about working on some files in the mp3 folder when I
this warning is a known issue for tracker 0.6.4.
jamie has provided a quick back on trunk and fixed it.

Or, even if it will not be backported, is anyone planning to build a
package? Perhaps upload it to getdeb.net?
Many thanks for this release!

Hi,
I installed this on Gutsy and get the following errors when I start trackerd.
It's a clean install of tracker, with no old cache or db.

Thanks for the prompt response. How would I fix it ? Also, what libraries do
you need for tracker-applet to be compiled ?
