I Greg Version 1 of the Google Translate API has been deprecated, and this is the version that was in use when we released Pootle 2.1. The upcoming version supports the newer version. I don't know if you can just replace the file from the upcoming version in your installation. It might be best to aim to solve this with the upcoming Pootle 2.5 (things are moving towards that now).
