I once got the same error. It's due to the distro not having any such thing
as a "universe" repository anymore, only one main repository and the extras.
Edit your sources.list file with a text editor and change the first lines to
this:

The name is ''Awen''. [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arwen Arwen] is something
rather different. :)
You're not required to edit anything manually. It should auto-update to the
next version using Update Manager, just like in Ubuntu. But for me it isn't

I have an nVidia GeForce6100 using the -nv driver with Trisquel 3.5 and all
is well except there's no 3D. The resolution was automatically detected at
1280x1024. What options are shown if you try to set the screen resolution
from the System menu? Did you restart X after all the editing was
I installed yesterday Trisquel 3.5 on my dell inspriron 1501 but had lot of
pains before it worked.
ISO cd (or USB key) didn't boot after selecting language and loading kernel.
At the end I found a solution: removing the splash option to the kernel boot.

I've installed Trisquel 3.5 on a machine that's running an Nvidia graphics
card (think it's an FX5300!?), but the default resolution was 800x600 when
the correct one is 1366x768.
When I was looking in xorg.conf for ideas, I noticed it was actually called
