thanks a lot.. may be i will wait for some future releases then my system

I've said this so many time before and I'll state it again.
These lists don't work.
There is more to 3d acceleration than this.
Some NVidia cards have the bare minimum of support for 3d. It is the result
of reverse engineering and not very good.
When I go and look at that list I have no ide
That isn't entirely correct. Neither was my statement though. It is more or

I'm pulling this from my head. Feel free to reply with corrections. Provided
my memory serves me correctly this is the details of the press release:

yes, those videos worked with linterna magica installed, last time i checked.

The default install of the current Trisquel decodes H264. There is no reason
for Trisquel not to ship a Web browser that would read it.
Remember that H264 raises patent threats: in the future, the developers of a

Sorry, I didn't feel offended - rather irritated by some claims and I may
have got a little carried away. But now that I've got it out of my system I'm
pretty cool actually.
As a matter of fact I even tend to agree with you, I'd however restate the
claim a little. I don't find anything wrong

I find it peculiar how you constantly accuse rms of unsupported claims

I agree with this - I think Stallman has extreme views on topics unrelated to
software which can be easily used to dismiss his views on free software and
thus he is a bad spokesperson for the FSF. For example, he shouldn't have
mentioned not bringing children to the world as a solution to glo

Abrowser uses Gnash which requires Gstreamer and libavcodec (just type
"aptitude show gnash-common" in the terminal to see all the dependencies).
So how would this work with Abrowser and IceCat? Do they look for Gstreamer
or libavcodec on the system and use them? Or do they continue to block
entirely? I say this becuase the Gnash browser plugin will recommend and
install the Gstreamer libraries for the MPEG4 container and the codecs it

Stallman didn't give his planned talks in Israel - he planned on speaking at
universities but the Palestinians who were paying for his accomodation
requested that he cancel the talks. They did allow him to talk in places
which aren't connected to the Israeli government.
This makes H.264 a bit tricky in certain countries:

We have discussed, in this forum, why rms almost had to cancel his talks in
Israel to give speaks in Palestine. He wanted to do both but had to choose
between only giving talks in Palestine or not giving any talk at all. He
chose the former solution, which obviously better advances the free s
I'd love to see that, the Windows version of Firefox reporting Flash as a

Every body is making compromises and we are trying mitigate those
compromises. Nobody sells a coreboot compatible laptop for instance.
The reason we don't ship coreboot is for the reason Cyberhawk mentions. It is
a non-trivial task to port coreboot from one board to another. If we were to

Mozilla should drop "support" for Adobe Flash on Microsoft Windows as Adobe
has done for GNU/Linux.
There would probably be a fight given that it isn't Mozilla that is
supporting it exactly. Mozilla blocking the plug-in and treating it as

There exists "Some 3D acceleration exists" for some chipsets. This was
reverse engineered from my understanding. Not ideal. The 3d acceleration is
severely limited or non-existent. There is also non-free firmware that may be
required in some (many/all?) instances.
