That is a good choice. It's the standard version recommended for most users.

I always figured that was typo.
Well maybe edition is not the right term, since it's not downloadable and not
really branded either. There are two meta-packages that you can install in
order to have a KDE desktop on Trisquel:
- triskel
- triskel-recommended
I have to ask where is this Triskel edition? I did a quick search on the web
and nothing turns up. I also didn't see it on the download page.
Both computers basically have the same install (Brigantia)... I did manage
however to get a nice looking LXDE desktop by following those instructions:

I have gotten bootable usb keys by using the 'dd' command, like this:
sudo dd if= of= bs=1M. Though these images
will boot normally, the installer may fail in the 'copying files'
phase. I get better results when using a utility called unetbootin.

1- Boot from USB, this will land to a "boot:" prompt
2- Type "help"
