I'm the same way generally speaking. I'm not adverse to changes being made.
There are worthwhile changes. However more often than not the change we see
is change for the sake of change and there is a loss of functionality that
makes things more difficult. Stripping down the number of options

True rolling release models are great for hobbyists, hackers and the average
consumer. But it's nowhere near predictable and stable enough for business or
related uses. I'm also old-fashioned, and like my stable, predictable

I dropped him an email earlier today. I'm hoping that he will reply on the

We really need Rubén to attend the meetings. He is the one who can
administer any changes, answer questions, etc.
I can't really take much credit, at least, only part of it. There are a
number of people working on making this happen. The original author of AR9170
driver for instance, and a few outside developers. We are doing some testing
and "pushing it" a bit. I did more of the work on the business end
This could be a good thing if it forced Trisquel to move to putting out LTS
based releases only. Moving to base Trisquel off LTS releases and updating a
handful of individual packages (so a sort of partial rolling release) would
be ideal I think.
Users would get updates to critical pieces l
I think I read somewhere or on the Linux Action Show that Fedora was also
considering a rolling release model.
Don't forget to run "fc-cache -fv" or "sudo fc-cache -fv" (if not running as

make the fonts permanent.
As stated earlier, the typical font folders are in /usr/share/fonts or the

I still see 3.6.1 as my latest packages for Precise and sorting the main PPA

I don't know. But I looked at the PPA archive and it looks like they were
updated to 3.6.4. Have you tried manually
I'm really excited about this too. I have been testing out the test adapter

I usually do this when I want to use a new font:
Open Synaptic and search for the font. Maybe it's already packed for easy
installation from the repositories.
If the font is not available from Synaptic, I download it from the Web.

If you wanted a more recent version of LibreOffice in Trisquel, you could use
a backport PPA. For example, this one:
https://launchpad.net/~libreoffice/+archive/libreoffice-3-6
I believe it's created by The Document Foundation and is free software.
Running gksudo nautilus in terminal or ALT+F2 will open nautlius with root
privileges. Then you can access /home/USERNAME/Desktop and copy/paste the
files to /usr/share/fonts. But I'm not sure if there are any security
implications of doing this.

For most packaging, Trisquel 6.0 = Ubuntu 12.04 LTS.
For a more detailed answer about this, see:

The su command only works for the terminal session. What you probably want to
do is launch a program, probably the file manager. If you're on GNOME, the
file manager is Nautilus, so you want to use "sudo nautilus". If you're on
LXDE (Trisquel Mini), the file manager is PCManFM, so you want to
Just installed Trisquel alongside Windows 7 fifteen minutes ago. As I

Using the latest version. Not sure what you mean by executing Synaptic in

Ubuntu 12.04, the Ubuntu version which Trisquel is based on, includes
LibreOffice 3.5.4 with security updates by default:

Same problem. The only one that seemed to work was crunchbang linux. But of

Hi,
what version of e17 are you using? E17 stable has been recently
released. You may want to upgrade your installation. I know that a PPA
with deb packages exists, but I can't remember the link right now,
sorry.
Also, can you try and execute Synaptic in a terminal and post the ouput?
Thanks.

You can find a USB WiFi adapter which will work at libre.thinkpenguin.com. It

Hi,
I'm new to GNU/Linux (9 months on Ubuntu) and would like to migrate to
