Drupal, a content management system
http://www.gnu.org/philosophy/words-to-avoid.html#Content ;)
The term “content management” takes the prize for
vacuity. “Content” means “some sort of information,” and
“management” in this context means “doing something with
it.” So a “content
Try https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Grub#Visual_Configuration .
Shortly:
$ sudo hwinfo --framebuffer
and set the desired resolution in /etc/default/grub , GRUB_GFXMODE.
Will keep this one in mind, thanks!
Thank you for pointing this, once I've made the jump and dual boot it I'll
definitely contribute there.
thanks for the help!
somehow grub seems to ignore GRUB_GFXMODE.
building and installing grub-2.00 from source [1] it shows the mascot

You are welcome :-)
My grub doesn's ignore it. Perhaps the version in Trisquel repos is not ready
for your videoboard?
:)
Hey there,
I am afraid there is no Xen-specific bootimage for booting up a DomU. Is your
host capable for full virtualisation ? I would go the standard installation
approach (booting up the standard Trisquel ISO) as you normally would with
KVM, Qemu or VirtualBox. Then you could try to
if your host is new enough to support full hardware virtualisation
If it is, this will give you some output
grep -E 'svm|vmx' /proc/cpuinfo
Sorry for the foul language :)
Hi all,
Unfortunately, after:
$ sudo update-manager -d
I got this error:
Could not calculate the upgrade
An unresolvable problem occurred while calculating the upgrade.
Please report this bug against the 'update-manager' package and include the

OK, so it sounds like a stupid question, but as they say, the only stupid
questions are the ones not asked. Yesterday I downloaded the iso file for
6.0, and burned the CD. I can boot the CD just fine. Well, it seems fine
anyway. I get to a login screen with the only option of other. I
That's a bug, shouldn’t be there. Got an ATI/AMD GPU? You're in for a bit
of a rough start but don't get disheartened, it's mostly good and not like
this...
You can try name: trisquel pass: [none]
If that don't work, switch to VT1 (ctrl+alt+f1) and try to login there with
the same
I'm not sure what is wrong although it should be logging in automatically.
I have a T43 laying around and if I have some time later I'll try and boot it
and let you know what happens.
I don't know if there all the same although the T43 I have here has an ATI
graphics chipset.
Hello there. Have you jumped through the required special hoops for this
upgrade?

The -d signifies using a development version. Since 6.0 is in full release
the -d shouldn't be needed anymore. Please remember to first apply all
available updates for your current Trisquel setup first and disable
multiarch.
I saw this exact baffling behavior on my box with a radeon. Adding nomodeset
made it go away and since I need that anyways to suspend and hibernate...
