I support this effort although I think people don't realize how gigantic a
task that would actually be. Particularly to build one that was even remotely
desirable for a fraction of the GNU/Linux using population.

Most commercial DVDs are encrypted, and you need something that decrypts it

Not all DVDs are encrypted, but all CSS'd DVDs should say on their covers "It

I think that some, but not all encrypted DVDs have an icon on their cover to

I don't ever watch movies outside of the theater or TV channels. I don't have
enough interest. One thing to note is that in order to get most movies
without being abused, you have to break the law (either get a copy from
someone else or crack DVD encryption in violation of the DMCA).
I might be wrong about [autonomo.us]. I apologize if so.
The "rm -i" alias is set in the file /etc/bash_completion.d/aliases. You can
remove it from there.
I always install the package, build-essential, before trying to build
anything. The Trisquel repos may also have build dependencies for your
package; use
sudo apt-get build-dep

The package may specify a particular version of autoconf or automake;

Hi,
I almost always use the windowing environment, though console access
would be nice if it were easy to set up. I would like to see the
Trisquel network install with an accessible console option, like the new
Debian Net Install has. In the Wheezy net installer, the user types a

Updated our documentation before although didn't mention Update Manager. The

it on the product page.
What triggered this? Can't I install 32bit packages anymore?
Anyway, apt fails to find the i386 package, for instance:

You can also write 'rm -f' instead of 'rm' (and create an alias in
~/.bash_aliases if you always want this non-interactive behavior). With
option "-f", 'rm' will not even warn you if you specified files that do not

Whenever I run rm -r from the command line it is always verbose. The

I just tested a RAR file and File Roller handled it fine in Trisquel (I also
