After the October seven's update it's impossible to install or to update the
linux-generic-lts-belenos.
Are others users having the same problem?
I need this kernel for running the ethernet.
My ISP blocks ports so I cannot host servers... apparently this is a fairly
common practice. So you need to find out if your ISP is on this racket as
well and if they are, perhaps you need to buy another connection type which
allows servers.
This whole blocking ports thing is horrible becau
Thanks for your comments and suggestions. Finally I discovered that my

hdmi support and now everything works fine. (It was time for change of
monitor anyway).

From the first part, they only provide a binary? The second part seems as if
they're blowing you off. It's "somewhere" - go look for it, whatever - we

Oops, I meant to say dynamic DNS here.

to start your own service (or server), you obviously need a computer.
Basically any computer will do, which works even acceptably on free software.
The network interface is the most crucial part, and you need a way to control
that computer. This means, that just about any computer will do. I'

The Bochs / Qemu VGA BIOS is free (LGPL).

I checked the license of the i128 driver in the Trisquel repo and it is also
free.
Duly backed, thanks Chris.
I could put the pngs into LibreOffice Writer. But Writer has the white-space
border around the image. I can stretch the image to cover that border, but I
don't know how to stretch it "to scale". the png gets distorted either
vertically or horizontally when I do this.
I think they could have planned the whole campaign much better.
A potential backer visits the website and thinks the same like me:
I would really love to help this game, but:
1. it's a flexible funding, so the money will be raised even if the campaign
fails

This may not be true in this case.
I think technological progress of 3d printers and the equivalent scanning
devices develop independantly of our concerns about hardware.
People improve this technology for other reasons than ours, but nevertheless

I wonder what the following means?

It doesn't sound like it is free software friendly...
Here is what I got back from the project lead:

Christopher,
Our GPU is 100% compatible with the Number Nine I128 driver.
This can be found on X.org.
We also have an example implementation for OpenGL.
Our VGA BIOS is a binary which also

I have three landscape-oriented png images. They're each something like 1700
x 1200.
Can put them into a three-page pdf document? I'd like to keep the image
quality, and horizontal orientation too if possible.
Is there a program that will do this?
Just to add the comment that the US law advocate for users of GNU/Linux,
Groklaw has had to close down because of the changes in respect of email -
which is how most of its business was done - remember them? they were

Has anybody come across this yet?
Sent an email inquiring about the goals and clarification on this being a

If we get an answer I'll update here.

Maybe so but what's the Chinese government going to do to me or you? I'm much
more worried about the US gov.
Intentionally crippling is bad, but these drivers are proprietary anyway, so
they shouldn't be used in the first place. At the same time, if people get
angry that they are being intentionally crippled, that could get "open

Free hardware is useless at the moment. We have to wait till technology is
good enough so we can make our own hardware or make sure the micro-circuits
look really the way they should do.
If you buy hardware labeled free, no one can check if it doesn't contain
malicious circuits.

Now here is a positive example why to use the free driver and not the binary
