I do not think there is a relation between NoScript, which prevents the
execution of some code included in a Web page, and a firewall, which filters
connections (from a given application if outgoing or from a given IP if
ingoing) on a given port. As far as I understand, the code in a Web page
When the CPU is idle, it runs at a lower speed. There is a bug in coreboot
that the motherboard makes a high pitched whine under this scenario.
A workaround is to disable CPU throttling (the CPU then runs always at full
speed).
This has the effect of reducing battery life. Also, the backlight

You can boot USB in GRUB2 but you have to directly boot the kernel/ramdisk.
Some example entries are in the menu.
There is a newer version of GRUB available that can parse the SYSLINUX menu
(isolinux.cfg) of most ISO's and automatically create GRUB menu entries.
I plan on issuing an updated c
When booting with SeaBIOS, your distro's grub config is used.
In Trisquel, you can add "idle=halt" option to /etc/default/grub on the
GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT= variable and then run "update-grub" command as
root.
You can boot with USB. Not all drives work currently (GRUB2 USB mass storage
support is incomplete). This is a common issue that will hopefully be
addressed in the near future.
The ones I have and recommend: Kingston DT101 G2 (8GB).
There are others but this is what I have. (they work flawles
Example (USB):
linux (usb0)/vmlinuz idle=halt
initrd (usb0)/initrd.gz
boot
Or CD (on the dock):
linux (ata0)/vmlinuz idle=halt
initrd (ata0)/initrd.gz
boot
idle=halt turns off CPU throttling, which removes the whining noise. This is
a workaround for a bug in the way coreboot handles power
My battery is older. It was already used as it can't fill up to the maximum
reported value. But it does not seem to have this issue.
How many minutes do you get from a full load? Does the laptop heat up badly?
Problem solved!
Mr. Rowe quickly answered one email. The hardware buttons DO work. But they
are separated from the software system. So there was no sense of looking for
a change on the sound bar. Together, both hardware buttons and volume applet
hurt my ears through the headphones.
I'm going to try both.
With other words, the firewall is a tool that can do some good to people who
know what they are looking for. Who are able to download from the
repositories their interface of choice. For the regular user NoScript has far
better results, making it more interesting to come preinstalled than a
Never heard of it. Does it need special configuration? I would like to try
it.
I have already read and tried it. But that's an excellent suggestion anyway.
My Gluglug X60 sucks 32-35W with the battery pulled off, no docking station
and only the internal Wifi on. I got scarred. I checked the laptop of a
friend, a 3 year old Samsung about the same screen size and that suc
Weird. I have totem and installed vlc myself. And the three buttons don't
have any effect. Not even on the visual side.
So you mean you can hear sound of your Gluglug X60?
The next paragraph in my reply looks interesting too. How about you?
Thank you. It beats the purpose of a Live system. But it looks workable.
For those waiting for a more recent kernel I note we now have

Does ratpoison have an entry in /usr/share/xsessions/ ? If you want it as
default, you could apparently edit /etc/lxdm/lxdm.conf
>GNU/linux would be quite a big thing, quite expensive
Yeah, almost as expensive in the short run as not changing and infinitely
cheaper in the long run.
THE NSA will still be able to infiltrate if they use windows, and changing
the GNU/linux would be quite a big thing, quite expensive
