If you search for hindi using http you get redirected to the https version, but not before revealing what you were searching for. Your internet provider can tell that you searched for hindi, but also all the routers that your http request travels through can associate your IP with the search

You can buy any desktop computer with an Intel graphical chipset (perfectly driven by Linux-libre). Given your requirements, I believe you want at least 4 GB of RAM. If you seek a free BIOS, your search suddenly becomes much tougher (and the price higher by lack of choice).

It's 3.13.0-24-generic, and the kernel header files are OK too so I can compile my device driver module now. On the other hand I am getting some very serious keyboard and application startup lag, but I'll need some time to investigate further. Synaptic always starts by rebuilding indexes,

I have problems with the installed system. The live DVD appears to be fine, and I haven't seen the sudo memory leaking error on it yet.

I didn't notice that until now, I don't really use that feature though. I use alltray to make evolution to minimize to the tray.

After reading this thread and the related one, I concluded that the problem was to do with samba, which I don't use. I uninstalled everything to do with samba despite warnings that this would uninstall Trisquel7, and that fixed my problem with keyboard lag. Everything is nice and responsive
