1. That might be the menu path on Trisquel and not Trisquel mini. You can try the xset command. It can change screensaver and dpms properties. (The screensaver isn't mentioned on the man page but you can see it with xset --help)

That is exactly what it is! an Ubuntu sound; usr/share/sounds/ubuntu/stereo/destop-login.ogg, This is Trisquel, I like better my login Flamenco style sound. Not something Mesopotamian. This is just my Opinion.

It is possible to edit `/etc/default/grub`, change the `GRUB_GFXMODE` variable, use `sudo update-grub2` then reboot. However, the GFX mode must be available, and strange resolutions are rarely available.

I see. Maybe there should be some sort of mechanism to make sure old kernel versions don't "pile up", though. Like maybe only keeping the current version plus the most recent old version, and deleting anything older than that. Just a thought.
