And if so, *dsl support?
Yeah, by Free Software friendly I meant wireless routers that works with
libre GNU/Linux systems. Yeah the control over the router is what I'm
thinking of. I was suppose to get one yesterday but came to my mind that a
wireless router I'd own should enable me full control over it.
If by "free software friendly", you mean "works with computers that run libre
GNU/Linux systems", you don't need to worry about that.
One thing I think is worth noting, though, is that routers typically need to
be configured by a Web-based interface, and JavaScript code is often
required. I
That and because the license of some code is unclear:

Really odd side-note:
THANK YOU for using .net instead of .com!
.com is for companies!
.org is for organizations!
.net is for everything else!
All too often websites use .com when they should be using .net- thank you for
selecting the right one.
orthogonal here deblobbed OpenBSD, making a 100% Free Software BSD version,
of which he called "LibertyBSD".
It has no deblobbed ports tree or deblobbed documentation, but it's OK for
now.

Could someone please explain to me what just happened here? Did you guys
just make a liberated BSD operating system?
I'm pretty sure it's purged because Chromium recommends non-free plugins.
I know there's
http://www.omgubuntu.co.uk/2014/09/netflix-linux-html5-nss-change-request but
Trisquel purges Chromium, which is considered free software but Trisquel
blocks it anyways.
Your best best is Ubuntu. If the above method doesn't work, there's always
Chromuium and the pepperflash
This good enough?

I warned you...
I'm taking one later. I don't look forward to buying on line. I want
something now. Probably there aren't wireless routers that's similar to the
fsf-endorsed wireless router that uses librecmc. So could you guys suggest
wireless routers that are Free Software friendly? I think almost every
apturl.js is just a preferences file that sets some configuration values so
it can use Apturl. It's not really a "program", but rather just a list of
preferences. Nothing to worry about.
Okay, I've got the torrent file ready. Please seed it!
Magnet Link
Never mind! I found the file after downloading the source code and greping
(egrep -ir disable-compton) it. :-)
Thanks for you efforts.
Yep, that's the SHA1 hash. I just realised that I forgot to include the
install56.iso and install56.fs in the SHA256 contained on the website. I've
just updated the SHA256 now, and uploaded the new signature.
Thanks! I'm making a page of mirrors here:
http://libertybsd.net/download.html
AllBSD has also agreed to make a mirror, although it's not yet complete.
What is the SHA1 hash of libertybsd_cd_install.iso?
Mine is b758a805367be69ba4b235f4556bd50c7b40b18f.
I'm going to start a torrent of it once I get it downloaded. Please Seed!
Oh, thank you so much, I should have open it with a text editor the moment I
saw it in the xdg file. I find the script very well made, it even checks if
the computer can handle, or not, 3D graphics acceleration.
Concerning the wiki entry, I will let you know by posting a new thread on the
f
I also set up a mirror at
http://mirrors.jadedfs.net/libertybsd_cd_install.iso
It's inside compton's launcher script in /usr/bin/compton-launcher:
[ -f ~/.config/disable-compton ] && exit 0
Please let me know when you finished, I'll do a translation to German then.
Attempting to answer my own questions:
> Is there a straightforward way of acquiring the ATI/Radeon graphics

> Anything I can get with sudo apt-get install ?
Out of desperation I tried this series of commands:
> sudo add-apt-reposito
Very elegant solution indeed.
I would like to know where is the code that checks inside the .config
directory for that file. Is it inside compton's code or is a shell script I
missed?
I'm very corius about this.
You can disable compton with this command:
touch ~/.config/disable-compton
Sorry, I did a mistake: To disable compton you must comment the file
/etc/xdg/autostart/compton-autostart.desktop
and the next time you login, the effects will be no more.
I think it's not on the wiki, but you gave me a great idea: I can create a
wiki page describing how to modify Trisquel's Desktop animations, I think
this would be great.
I will have time to do so after January 25th.
Thank you for the idea :-)
Forget that GeForce 6200 - it's utterly dead and produces a jet black screen
on my current installation of Trisquel 7 in my HP 6430NX. My present
ATI/Radeon 9200 SE graphics card works great if you can tolerate egg-shaped
circles and less-than-native resolution in my SyncMaster 2253BW monito
If I ever come to China, can I come to Guiyu, grab as many laptops as I can,
and mail it home?
My 6200 is still serving me well.
Forgive me for being captain hindsight but I think you should've gone with
that.
Sorry, my bad. Thanks for noticing.
According to 'man apturl', apturl does not come from the Firefox project:
apturl is a simple graphical application that takes an URL (following the
apt-protocol) as a command line option, parses it and carries out the
operations that the URL describes (that is, it asks the user if he wants
I should have known that earlier! :D Thanks for the info. I wonder if this is
mentioned in the wiki.
If you don't want to remove the package but disabling the effects instead,
you could open compton.conf file with your favourite text editor and comment
every line (writting a "#" at the beginning of every line):
$ sudo nano /etc/compton.conf
You could disable all effects by removing the package "compton". I did it
since I don't like those effects.
I did't find a way to disable them through the settings. But as far as I read
there are ways to configure certain things using the compton cli program.
As far as I know, Firefox uses a lot JavaScript for internal stuff. For
example for configuration. Have a look at the output of
dpkg -L abrowser | grep js$
to see what JavaScript files are included in the Abrowser package
But anyway: since it's shipped together with Firefox (IceCat/Abrowser)
