Hello gang
So I'm looking to do the next step from leaving proprietary software, I
currently have a minix x5 media player box that I use to stream netflix
(please dont cast me away yet!)and xbmc. I looking online for a solution but
the results are not promising. Now I know someone is going

Yeah I was too late, it has been doing that for a day now.
Welcome back, Ali! You have been missed. The community is still going strong,
and one of the reasons why I stick around.
I disagree
Fewer people use the Troll Hole. Why post the topic where no one will
notice? Why even make a topic then?
I'm glad that it's here in the English forum.
i think its fine to have posts related to libre software on trisquel forms
as much of the purpose of trisquel is to make a fully free
gnu/linux distro
so this is relevant
Sorry, but this article should had been post-it in the TROLL HOLE and not in

My apologies, I don't know any. I could share links but all of them are
easily found using duckduckgo search engine and non of them were read by me.
Good luck.
Ah, and sorry for that "it's" because it

To be a little clearer, the darknet would be anything on the internet that
can't be accessed by normal browsers using normal methods. It's still the
internet.

I believe that when you install the Chrome deb package, it automatically adds
google-chrome.list.
If blue-tooth worked (even for 5 seconds) and he is not double booting with
windblowz and did not install any proprietary driver - then his bt can work
using free software. The problem is - how to get it to work!
I2P is a darknet. Thus, any website hosted within the I2P network (they call
them eepsites) can NOT be accessed from the internet. Tor and I2P are quite
different and have different approaches to reach different goals. I highly
recommend to read the official documentation of I2P first as it e

completely agree. gcc is an excellent compiler and capable of a lot of
things, but to know that, you have to dig in. It's like emacs: the only way
to fully exploit their capabilities is by reading it's documentation and
understand it.

No, it should be enough! :-)
To remove packages that were installed as dependencies of software that has
been uninstalled since then:
$ sudo apt-get autoremove
As for Leafpad vs AbiWord, the former is a text editor, whereas the latter is
a WYSIWYG word processor. Those two applications fulfill different use cases:

what is the name off your blue-tooth card?
so i can check if it dose work with libre software
AH thanks!
I thought it was an file but it was an directory.
In this directory there was google-chrome.list so I remote the line and now
is google away.
Thanks for the advice.
Should I also check something?
if you format your disk or install trisquel again google will be away but i
dont think you have to do that
please post the output to this commandls /etc/apt/sources.list.d/
I only have the internal. In my case, bluetooth and wireless functionality
are in a card.
Sorry for being vague or not accurate guys.
So only a complete new installation of Trisquel would be the best?
If I formate the disk, then should be google away, so I can install Trisquel
new or?
Hi Tom,
Thanks for the reply, it is nice to know that it will be removed beforehand
:), I guess I am a bit untrusting regarding package management.
The idea with a virtual machine is good so I will try that when I have some
time.
The /etc/apt/sources.list.d/ is empty.
Are there other files to check?
Or would it be the best to install a new fresh Trisuel version?
when i run
apt-get autoremove this is the output:

it looks good.
The only thing I am not to happy about is that it relies on
'gnome-desktop-data'...
So if I install it, and don't like it, how do I clean out the packages that I
don't require anymore?
Libre office calc is good but for a slower pc gnumeric looks good:

is this a usb bluetooth device or internel?
It seems to be ok actually... I think you probably have additional
repositories from the list files in /etc/apt/sources.list.d/ . Could you
please check if you have some .list files in /etc/apt/sources.list.d/ and if
in some of them you have something that sounds like
deb http://dl.google.
and it just so happens to be a awesome compile as well!
The file /etc/apt/sources.list has this lines:
#deb cdrom:[Trisquel 7.0 _belenos_ - Release amd64 (20141102)]/ belenos main
# Trisquel repositories for supported software and updates
deb http://fr.archive.trisquel.info/trisquel/ belenos main

If you want snapping/tiling/whatever-it-should-be-called, installing MATE,
setting it up like Trisquel up to 5.5, and then having Compton start at
startup would work.
Then go to dconf editor and there's a setting to enable Marco's window
snapping (don't remember exactly where).
It seems you added the google repositories for Chrome... Could you copy and
paste here the content of the file /etc/apt/sources.list ? You will probably
have some lines you need to remove...
Hello,
I run the command "sudo apt-get update" and I get this results:
