Due to an array of critical security vulnerabilities, it is definitely time to push an update to the users. I've migrated my systems away from Trisquel until the issue is resolved. Debian without enabling the non-free repository is a good alternative option.

Ubuntu 16.10 comes out this month, meaning 16.04 will be out for 6 months. Since Trisquel 8 is based on 16.04, it's really shitty that we have had to wait 6 months. What is the damn holdup?

You absolutely want the software you write under a copylefted license, probably the GNU GPLv3+. A competitor that would like to build similar robots running proprietary software would then have to rewrite everything. Assuming it is much work, it probably won't and will end up improving your

Writer is not a "text editor" (like Emacs, GEdit, etc.), it is a WYSIWYG "text processor". Different uses, although you can do (not WYSIWYG) text processing in a text editor (e.g., writing in LaTeX). And, everybody is underusing Emacs: Emacs is huge! You cannot know it all.

I know this is a different issue, but there is some similarity: when creating online comics (think XKCD), the licensed that can be used allows libre use of the work, with one limitation: no commercial use. Basically, do whatever you want with it, but don't re-sell it. I like it, but it's

evil-mode rocks if you like Vim's way. I don't really have a need for such an advanced text editor (I'm no programmer/dev), but it's fun. Also I will at least get skills to manipulate text and lines in bulk, which is not doable in a normal text editor like Writer. It will basically be a

I don't have the problem, but out of curiosity: I think either vmlinuz is really missing, or GRUB links to it the wrong way. vmlinuz is supposed to be in the /boot folder as far as I know (https://superuser.com/questions/62575/where-is-vmlinux-on-my-ubuntu-installation), so that would be the

Thank you for your criticism. The software will be free, both client and server. What is affected by the patent is the mechanical, electrical and electronic design of the work. But the patent focuses only thing is to ban the production on a mass scale by large companies for profit.
