there are licenses that support freedom and creativity.
some of them are so free you add your own code and make it not free anymore
if you want to.

Yeah, it certainly was. I've learned a lot since then, so I'm hopeful that
I'll do better this time. It also helps that it's on CrowdSupply. Really,
it's like a completely different world from IGG. Lots of amazing feedback.
What better place than a GNU/Linux forum? What better time than when
somebody calls the OS by the name of its sole kernel? It is not about being
rude or pedantic. It is about making GNU's philosophy visible. It does
matter. It is no joke. Many GNU/Linux users have never heard of GNU:
Hopefully you can promote yourself better in this campaign. I think that was

FSF has paid staff to keep up communications. Ruben's job at the FSF is
system administration, not public relations. Comparing the full-time paid
position of public relations to someone that helps develop Trisquel on the
side seems not a fair comparison.
Theres a better time and place to make that distinction. Or better yet, make
that point while offering useful help that pertains to the original question.
This is the kind of crap that keeps "linux" and "gnu/linux" relegated to a

Making the distinction *is* important for the *GNU* community (not for the

"I think there is supposed to be a gnu in there somewhere...

This isn't helpful and it doesn't address the original question.
This isn't the place to make the distinction between the linux kernel and
gnu/linux os.

Hi guys
The default backup program worked this past weekend! I don't know why I had
trouble with it before. I will do a few incremental backups and try again in
a few weeks.
I'm optimistic and hopeful that it will continue to work for me; thanks again

Compiling from source is frustrating. I've never had much luck with it
either and avoid it when possible. Come back with an error message and your
makefile and maybe someone can be of more help. Good luck!
Compiling source isn't complicated on GNU/Linux, it's just complicated in
general. If you want something really complicated, try doing it on Windows.
Why compiling fails can vary quite a bit. Most commonly, either the code is
just buggy or there's a dependency you're missing. There's no

Curious I started with C programming and right now I am studying lisp-scheme

Sorry for my frustration and irritation.

Add/Remove is extremely buggy (at least it was for me). Use synaptic or

I had troubles configuring claws mail with riseup, mainly due to the

Thank you, Magic Banana! That did it.
I don't understand something... I was searching under add/remove programs

two programs? Why do they offer differing software? I had assumed any

Hi fellow Trisquel-ers! Are there any libre Common LISP interpreteres

LISP programming on Trisquel? Thanks.
Looks very promising indeed. I think you'll attract a way bigger audience

I love the metroid games and would also love to see a modern yet classic

You'll write it in python?
No, but I remember I spent a long time configuring my accounts in evolution
the first time.
You have to carefully enter all the parameters by yourself because it has no

The priority now isn't to release the next Trisquel. It would be better to
start to build a good structure for participating in Trisquel development
process.

Quidam is, let's say, not very communicative, and I can understand how this

I don't know anything about Trisquel's development process as I've never

A question I've seen nowhere on the forum.
Why can't people join the developers team ? Isn't it the way linux distros

We've got lots of evidence-based speculation, but very little idea about it.
The problem is that the developer, Ruben, is currently the only sysadmin at
the FSF, and so has very little time to contribute to the project. Given he
