hi
What happened to Ututo
and Did Ututo developers changed Their thinking?
As far as I know Ututo XS based on Gentoo.
My friend downloaded Ututo XS
And tell me it's a based on Ubuntu 14.4
Literally disconnect the fingerprint reader cable.
I do not think it is doable with a GNOME shortcut because there does not seem
to be an option on the command line (I looked at 'man abrowser') to do that.
But I found a free software add-on that apparently does what you want:
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/shortcutkey2url
You can use system-monitor: Trisquel -> System conf -> System Monitor
My internet connection seems to be unstable. My ISP only registers minor
disturbances in a short interval of time. Is there a way to have my computer
log the stability of the connection?
This works fine, but there is an annoying issue that I hope to be
(eventually!?) able to solve:
Using a short cut to open our forum works well, when I don't have an open
instance of the forum. My short cut opens a new tab with the forum, even
there is already a tab open with the forum.
This is really a big step forward. Thanks for all the efforts.
I just posted a request similar to the following on replicant forum as well:
I am uncertain of exactly what and how to do. I know it's extra work in a
busy time, but I would really appreciate an easier 'manual' for getting wifi
I konw :-)
Mate desktop has brisk menu, although it's in very early stages. It's similar
to xfce whisker menu but much lighter (written in C).
So, one day it will be available in trisquel.
https://github.com/solus-project/brisk-menu
Eventually, it will work. ;)
>independent of the DE?
If that question is for me then the answer is "yes".
I will try to explain (probably with many imprecisions: sorry for the
purists) making a parallel with programming... so I hope you know the basics
of a programming activity.
TeX and LaTeX are typesetting languages. 'tex' and 'latex' are the names of
the commands to interpret the TeX or
No. That's about as absurd as if Wal-mart was held responsible for selling
food to someone who later commits a terrorist attack. The only way I can
think of that you could possibly be held responsible is if someone literally
said to you, "I want to do X so that I can perform a terrorist
I would be more concerned about the circumstances under which you are meeting
a stranger, particularly if you are a minor. If that's the case, perhaps you
could invite one of your parents or another trusted adult to come along and
hang out in the public place where you meet and help this
Replacing the panel suffices (no need to replace chasis). You might need a
new inverter as well that provides sufficient power to power on the screen.

Don't give Trump any ideas!
Thanks. So TeX is the backend and I need a frontend like Kile or any other
text editor?
Yeah, but with three different distros each one with different versions of
NetworkManager? And Parabola for example uses wifi-menu which also does not

Well, I have just tried to do what you told me to in both Parabola (Mate iso)
and Trisquel and it still didn't work,
it continued timing out and sometimes asked again for the password, and I'm
pretty sure I typed it correctly because I checked it at least twice. Is it
possible that my router
Same with Okular. It automatically reloads documents.
There is also a useful feature called SyncTeX which lets you click in your
PDF viewer, which will take you to the source corresponding to that part of
the document.
oh the irony of such sarcasm... too many people would believe you in america.
If you don't use it, then disable it:
systemctl disable ssh
Fair point, my bad.
That puts things into perspective, thanks.

Hi, Rishikbharath welcome to Trisquel. I also installed Trisquel Mini from an

your screenshots are beautiful.

To start exploring LaTeX you can use gummi editor

the best suite to produce LaTeX documents, but require Emacs intermediate
level.

We will discuss the details via jabber. Thanks for your trust! You are about
to get rich :D
Calmstorm was attempting to construct an analogy between god (and invented

Yes it does look rather nice. :)
Icedove and Abrowser need to be taken more seriously. or Icecat and Icedove
whichever combo works best for people...
independent of the DE?
God(s) and religion were invented as a means to exert control - i.e., take
away individual freedoms.
Free software is a means by which individuals can exercise their freedoms.
Very different.
You don't believe bad actions will come back to bite you later?
you cannot be serious.
What about Bernie madoff? the guy who ripped off so many people and then got

This weekend is the https://fosdem.org/2017/ .
I booked my travel half an hour ago (that's what you call a improvised trip

there and take some drinks.
Happy hacking!

Exactly. This is a good answer to a similar question I've read recently.

Hello everyone,
Has anyone tried Bitmask VPN? You can try it from Riseup.net or Calyx. It’s

Sorry again: I am confusing two sdcards: I have one physical sdcard which
should work as an external sdcard, i.e. sdcard1, and then there is the
internal sdcard, i.e. sdcard0. Of course I haven't been able to externally
format the sdcard0.
Audio works fine on Lubuntu? If not, it's possible that the jack device has a

Also, Trisquel Mini is well-known to have problems with Midori and other

I would consider a Thinkpad x200 with coreboot / libreboot (works fine

You can buy a x200 for dirt cheap but you will
Dear Trisquel Friends,
I had installed trisquel and loved the speed of this libre distro.
But I experienced an error which I had long time ago with Debian and it is

That last part caught me off guard. I laughed but okay, I guess I have been

I am running an instance of Flidas on a T60 (32bit). I want to change from
Mate to xfce.
So far I have un-installed Mate DE by this command:

Sorry to hear that. I ran out the tips on this one :(

It's inaccurate to think of a computer card as a "board". It's more like a
cartridge. In fact, it's very similar to a PCMCIA
Absolutely! You can sandbox anything, and I mean ANYTHING with firejail. You
can write your own profile but unless you are very good at it, I recommend
you use the profile the developer has provided for it. See, the TorBB profile
is not installed in /etc/firejail but there is one on github
Thanks.
Un-installing xfce4 and running sudo update, sudo upgrade and re-installing
xfce4 did it.
(I am not sure it sudo opgrade is really necessary)
You can use Texmaker or Texstudio (I think Texstudio is more actively
developed, but not sure).
I personally like to cheat using LyX.
There are thousands of options, of course, but I'd say the ones I've told you
are the most suitable and populars.
Wifi cards require firmware, i.e., code executed on the card's processor (not
on the main processor). Every Wifi chipset needs a different firmware.
Nowadays, this firmware usually is in the kernel and uploaded to the Wifi
card. Like any software, this firmware ought to be free.
Yeah, that's because I took it from the wrong computer! I'm reinstalling
Triquel on my T60 now. When it's done, I'll try again. (need weekend)
On my T60 it says LTN141P4-L02
It's a 14.1" and 1400x1050 pixels produced by Samsung
Nothing special, I assume?
Not in Abrowser/IceCat but in GNOME. The "Keyboard" utility, in the "System
Settings", has a tab named "Shortcuts". With the "+" button you can add a
custom shortcut: choose a "name" (e.g., "Visit Trisquel forum") and specify
'abrowser trisquel.info/forum' as a "command". Then, on the row
Install TeX Live (texlive for a decent selection, and texlive-full for the

Sure if you want I can look at it. but I do think wikipedia isn't the best

if its online free I may consider it.
I am not entirely sure if anyone in this world can be sure about anything one

Your card should work. Indeed the very same fact you are able to "scan" for
networks means the card works AFAIK. I had this behavior with a card once in
Debian and the solution for me was to not write the password when the popup
window requesting for it came out but instead add in in

Is it actually easier?
I am not sure about what and where the inverter is. Is it physically placed
in the chasis of the display or is it in the 'main chasis'?
It's not worth making your parents worry about you. I disagree with their
thought process. But if they genuinely believe it and you help this guy,
then they will worry.
Is the process the same if you have already replaced the wifi card?
and if it is the x200?
What has happened to this topic? Will it improve after trisquel 8?
There is LyX that inkoia mentioned here that follows a WYSIWYM ("what you see
is what you mean") approach, where what shows up on the screen is an
approximation of what will show up on the page.
You can always open a text editor in one half of the screen and the document
viewer in the
Well, I found out I already had one of these adapter !
It works perfectly ! USB key is correctly detected. You can even boot from it
!
Now I need to find a nano micro sd reader.. :)
I don't administrate an offline Trisquel, what I want is an updated Live USB
that:
1) has the latest security updates installed before going online.
2) has software packages added that aren't bundled with the default ISO.
I want those things so that:
a) I can install on multiple machines,
Well, it is just a metapackage so accepting and uninstalling it should not
remove any other relevant (to the proper functionality of the OS) dependency,
if none at all.
Found a wiki page for offline package installation:
https://trisquel.info/en/wiki/installing-packages-without-internet-connection
But whilst that page recommends dpkg, it also links to a site that
specifically says don't use dpkg because it doesn't handle dependencies
correctly, and that
I think I heard somewhere that there exists a LaTeX software that lets you
see the actual output of your file in a window next to the editor window. Is
that correct and is it any advantage?
I think he meant sorts of IDEs for LaTeX.
That: an "f" was missing.
On closer look, you can do that automatically by just passing the
--register-app command-line option to TBB. I don't remember whether or not I
did this.
Sorry, that may have been what I did then, as I got it to work.
Thanks.
I was just lucky to find one on a site for buying and selling used stuff. I
was double lucky as I was permitted to borrow the display to check its
compatibility. What I did was to open the chassis and check the maker and
product number and compare to the ones listed by libreboot.
I got hold on a T60 for installing Libreboot. It has a non-compatible display
but I have retrieved a compatible one.
Would it make the most sense to replace only the panel or the whole display,
including the frame/chassis (or what it is called)?
true religion is freeing, but to answer your bigger question, that wasn't a

that is up to you.
Truthfully though it was an incomplete explanation.
sadly though, only a small remnant of religious people seem to
True, I've been looking at that too, tx for the reminder, jbar!
All of them are outdated and are exposed for security threats at the moment.
Why does the maintenance of this project omits updates although security
