Although my version says that forms are not supported, it seems to work.

Well, AFAIK, provided the passphrase is long enough, random enough and
complex enough, this will do:
gpg --cipher-algo AES256 --symmetric filename
The stickers on carbon vinil of T400 are printed by me, not so high quality,
