I thought some people here might be interested in a recent freedom related
(not software related though) arrest that occurred the other day. I was
essentially arrested for filming a police checkpoint in Manchester, New

Ah okay, well I did say to disregard my message if you did.
regardless though, it is a good idea to rejoin GNU.
I want to exclude certain files and file sizes when making a backup. I want
to keep certain file types in downloads but not real big files or video
files. Just small files of audio, office, web and ebook formats included in
keeping. How can I do this?
Yes, please try to re-join GNU!
All tools allow you to list the folders to back up. For instance, "Backups",
in the "System Settings" has "Folder to save" (in the left pane) and a "+"
allow you to "add" folders.
This is for a backup drive to save up space on.
If you then remove the original files, it is not a backup: it
I don't see the need for a forum. There is a mailing list intended for

Thanks Jason, that worked out for me.
This is for my home folder I'd like to only keep certain files backed up in
all directories.
I want to backup only audio, web, office and ebooks(epub, pdf, mobi and office
formats doc,odf...etc. and web formats html,xhtml,xml...etc.)
How do I accomplish this?
What is your favorite backup tool
Found out how to do it with ffmpeg.
ffmpeg -i "concat:file1.mp3|file2.mp3" -acodec copy output.mp3
just use the tab key to auto-complete the file names but I think you need to
do that before putting it in with "concat: and | ". Otherwise, the tab
autocompletion will not work.
Hmm.. I thought I was up to date. Shouldn't it be checking that when I do
the software updater?
Oh you're on 4.8? Support for the 4.8 series was discontinued back in January
and the packages for it have since been removed from my APT repository so
there's nothing for the package manager to find.
Currently supported versions can be found on https://jxself.org/linux-libre/

Good idea, it does work better than Viewtube for me.
The only interrogation is, do the .lua files lead to JS execution? I can't
find that js_url thing anywhere:

That needs the kernel headers too:

Getting source for kernel version: 4.8.11-gnu
apt-get install linux-headers-4.8.11-gnu

How about this then.

Qemu,KVM, + VirtManager (Graphical Manager)
I am trying to just run my windows 7 vm and it gives an error stating the
kernel drivers are not installed, and it needs the headers to install them.
Is it Guest Additions that won't work without the headers or what?
I will give that a go. Thanks Mangy!
Is there something other than VirtualBox? Unfortunately I need to use it to
access some things at work being that I work in a ::cough:: ::cough:; Windows
environment... How do I check where the headers are? Because when I run the
command 'sudo /etc/init.d/vboxdrv setup' it tells me my

I actually sent my apology to RMS directly, via email. I did apologize
generally to the GNU project, on the website.
RMS generally prefers email and as far as I know he doesn't use the web.
Framateam.org is a Mattermost instance.
If the version he uses is between 4.0 and before 4.2 than I disagree.
but if it is newer, most definitely you are right.
I would also advise you to apologize if you haven't already to stallman.
But if you have,
then disregard the above part of my message and go for it.
;)
I succeeded plain and simple!
only one problem, I still need a screen protector and a micro usb connector
for connecting usbs.
Otherwise wifi is a no go. heh.
I mentionned Drupal Groups several month ago, if not a year ago and had no
reply (on the dev list) Because some of us were using Etherpads & a Framasoft
to colaborate together, but this was not satisfactory as it means users have
to log into another instance.

I feel like the issues that would make this decision questionable have been
more than adequately taken care of (decentralized authority, thorough and

The problem has been caused by intltool. You should check why it cannot be
