Definitely good news! I like the T420 a lot, but hardly use it because of the Intel ME, which I honestly didn't know about when I acquired it. My newly librebooted X60T is the first, but not the last to shed proprietary BIOS. I'm still sitting here with a big grin on my face asking myself,

Leah, I'd be more than happy to work on improving/maintaining Libreboot's documentation. I've already downloaded Libreboot's Git, and have started work on the encrypted Parabola installation section. I'll submit the changes for that article, as soon as I'm finished with it (should be done

Heather, thanks for all your comments and advices to me. I am sorry I haven't had time to answer to them specifically, but please know that they are much appreciated.

Yes, same for the desktop motherboard, Ivy is retrocompatible with Sandy. I am also not sure about factory software, but all that CPU use same socket.

GNUser said: One question, have you tried full-disk-encryption? I am currently using it in my laptop, and if I decide to change for a LibreBooted machine I would also want to use it (I can't feel at peace walking around with my hard drive unencrypted). Heather says: You can use full

Just wanted to compliment and encourage Leah in your work. It was about time we saw a libre machine at an affordable price. I remember when a X60 (or was it a T60?) was being sold for about 100€. Anyway, this machine looks good and supports everything one might need in GNU world. Again, keep

[Trisquel-users] Understanding and managing downloads in firefox based browsers

Using both Abrowser and Tor Browser (both firefox based) I noticed that sometimes when I download a file, it will generate a "file.extension.part" that increases in size until it finishes the download and transforms into "file.extension" (which was created as a 0 bytes file initially). Some

I see the libreboot website is English only. I can translate it into Italian maybe, that is if you think that would be useful. I don't know how many pizzanapolibella friends get interested in libremoot.. but, yeah, I can do that. Then you find a German dood, a French and a Spanish and you

I agree with you about "Purism"- and wholeheartedly agree with you about Intel- but I don't think what they're doing here is bad. Of course, the fact that they are a plague on the free software community isn't up for debate. Making promises to "free the ME" without noting the difficulties
