Here a couple of reason why switching to Debian will be advantageus:
- Ubuntu is based on Debian Unstable and it obviously more bloted than its
source
- Debian division beetwenn free and non-free is clean and accurate in repos
and packages, the one you are claiming for Ubuntu is, to be kind, o
I am a silly man.
Thanks.
The Electrum website requires JavaScript to run.
Here's how I install Electrum.
Install pip for Python 2 branch preferably 2.7 (the latest version) - the
package should be called something like python2-pip or python2.7-pip. Then
install the latest version from https://download.electrum.org/
I agree 100%
Thanks for sharing this. I've also been using Parabola lately and
recommending it occasionally in this forum. This post was a good reminder of
how important it is to support Trisquel. Advanced users have multiple libre
options, but all users deserve freedom and Trisquel is perhaps the only
This package manager is also available for Parabola

Guix is a packaging system and GuixSD is an operating system.Pay attention to
the names ("Guix" is different from "GuixSD"), because you do not install
GuixSD, unless you do want to.
Where is a more lightweight Qt frontend for Ring, with much less bundles with
KDE?
Most of Ubuntu's proprietary software is separated out, too. I don't see
switching to a Debian base as advantageous. Heck, I personally would have
very little reason to use Trisquel if it were based on Debian.
I have appended the BlackArch repo into Parabola, but by installing some
security tools, I am facing nonfree deps preventing my installatons, though
tools themselves are free (same problem as Deb contrib), these nonfree deps
are including vBox. I have also appended Linux-libre into my Kali sy

I didn't say it is. x86 is what I was thinking of when I said "high-end". You
know, like gaming computers. The really expensive, cutting-edge stuff that
people like gamers buy.
For lower-end stuff, ARM is largely o
Strangely enough... GitHub started changing hashes for the .zip/.tar.gz
files it provides.
I'll try to update the recipe again, Thanks for letting me know. ;)
I'll answer back when there is an update.

It seems pretty easy.
I think that at some point the automation will allow to keep up with the main
distribution (ubuntu) releasing at the same time.
I am wondering which tools are used to automate the releases and the builds.
I see that they use jenkins for the builds.
I am a little bit puzzled by the number of posts coming from the same small
number of people complaining about Trisquel 8 is not here and so on.
I have it installed on my laptop that I am using in this moment and my main
machine at home since quite a while.
@ylevental did you try Trisquel 8?
Vpincini, i gave my opinion in some previous post and will not repeat myself.
Frankly with several years of experience, i have come to the conclusion that
the FSF is very good with evrything that concerns "Software" that includes

Back in Trisquel 7 it came with Electrum and I used it a lot. It does not
come with Trisquel 8, and it's not in the repos either. I still have my keys

You could try asking David (Trisquel's Website adminstator) to activate a

Don't do this. If you really want to do something useful, join the Trisquel
development team and help Trisquel.
I heard gNewSense is dead though. And what would be a good polling website
then? I agree with you about the Debian version though.
This poll requires proprietary software in the form of JavaScript in the web
browser.
Trisquel should stay on Ubuntu LTS. If you want Debian, go help gNewSense.

Great idea. Since Trisquel 8 already exists, we would start with Trisquel 9
in this respect. I have created a poll.
Hi happy_gnu
RMS really should not hope for Trisquel 8 to be released since he is the one
who (indirectly) caused the delay.
"Poor Ruben" can't dedicate enough time to his petty project since when he
started working for FSF (aka RMS petty project).
If he really cares about Trisquel he sho
