Last day to benefit from a 10% discount on all Technoethical products. Coupon
code: ROMANIADAY. :-)
P.S. Some of you might have tried the coupon yesterday and it couldn't be
applied. It was a technical glitch, which is now fixed.
Do it the old fashioned way.

Same here. I'm using nordvpn + networkmanager + openvpn as described in the
tutorial link given by davidgil.
It works flawlessly.
If you want to make sure if everything is tunneled and there are no leaks,
you can use this little bash script that has the name "firewall.sh" on my
computer. I
I agree with you on all but the hyperbola...
I just installed it, although, there is a warning I will give if anyone

no gui so you need an extra computer to do this also, you must be between
intermediate and expert at gnu/linux.
Also, they do have 32 bit. so yeah...
I remember always having this same issue with trisquel 7 and resorting to dd
to create a live USB.
So ... what's the best way for me to upgrade to Trisquel 8? On my laptop, I
am currently running Trisquel 7, although I installed the full version and
then changed to LXDE from Gnome, rather than installing the 'Mini' version.
Do I just change the repository paths to the Trisquel 8 ones and
I only had this problem with Trisquel. Uruk Beta 2 worked fine on my x60 with
Startup Disk Creator.
Did you ask the FSF what they recommend as a currently-existing alternative?
You are in luck! Just today, I setup Trisquel 8 with my VPN, NordVPN. The
installation for GNU/Linux doesn't use a proprietary app so I believe its
using all Libre tools. Have a look at how it's done:
https://nordvpn.com/tutorials/linux/openvpn/
Good to hear. But whatever the problem is with both Uruk 2 and Trisquel 8
betas, it needs to be fixed before the final releases. Uruk and Trisquel are
both supposed to be noob-friendly distros, and official release that can't be
installed without command line wizardry is just embarrassing ;)
If I log into the beta (in a second partition on my PC), and download and
install all updates, will that result in an installed system equivalent to a
release candidate? If so, I will do that and post any notes here in the next
couple of days.
I know this doesn't help you right now, but I strongly recommend have
separate partitions for / (root - your OS) and /home (your user files). That
way you can install a new OS without needing an external drive, although when
you're making any major changes to your OS (including version

As far as I can see that client is proprietary software. Here is a free
software solution, which is cheaper moreover:

Dear Trisquel users,
I've read it might be safer, privacy-wise, to use a VPN.
1 But which one?
2 Is the software you have to download Free Software?
Example: https://www.privateinternetaccess.com/pages/client-support/, you
have to download software for Ubuntu 12.04 or newer, I don't know if

No argument there.
Even so, this alone is enough to put System76 in first place when it comes to
replacing my laptop in a few months. (Puri.sm is charging several hundred
dollars more for a comparable IME-disabled machine.)
Here's hoping ZAReason, ThinkPenguin, et. al. follow suit

Hi Heather,
Thanks for sharing; your post makes a lot of sense. I always read your posts
with interest because you make matters resonate on a personal level and help
to put things in perspective.
This is the first time I hear the story of RMS having to say that someone he

That's your problem. You're conflating e-cash with payment services. They are
not the same. You physically cannot have "purchase protection" with e-cash.
It's impossible.
I'm not going to
Stallman answered, fsf will endorse no crowd funding regarding a libre

special. That is an odd reason considering, there is no new

Yes, I had not thought about it this way, but it is indeed like any other
abusive relationship.
Thanks a lot for your thoughtful answer.
The capacity of RMS to continue his activism over such a long period is
something worth learning about. I like his response.

I phrased it poorly. Paypal and credit cards likely do profiling of the
buyer. If you use gnutaler,
then their profiling stops.
But the profiling the seller does if seller gets buyers name and address,
gnutaler cannot stop.
Yeah, as if trisquel is up-to-date and fast with releases...
