The reports contain distortions and falsehoods. I urge people to read what he

Hard to say, but he has said a lot of really wild stuff in his life. But,
he's always been a provocateur, who views part of his purpose as challenging
people on the words they use and on the way those word choices affec

I would agree, but we do need someone to fill at least some of the void if

That being said, I only said nothing for so long, because Stallman's

Yeah, the people jumping at the chance to throw RMS under the bus is worrying
me. I dislike his stances on many things, and think that he is very
anti-freedom on a lot of issues. But as for software, I look at him as kinda
like a founding father. I'm worried that with statements like "RMS

Everybody in the free software movement speaks for free software as
individuals.
Without Stallman there would be no free software movement. In the 80s people
were suing each other into oblivion over shareware. As a result of the
lawsuits, Stallman came up with the idea of copy left and created the GPL.
But left to their own devices and without Stallman's vision and leader

I second that. I think we need someone at least as dedicated and knowledgeable

Ah, yes, I forgot that point. Thanks for reminding me, Mason.
The Free Software Foundation has announced that Richard Stallman has
resigned as president, and also from its board of directors.
There are many capable people on the FSF than can continue
Richard's work, but for sure we will miss his enlightened steering.
Richard M. Stallman resigns —
