I've just replaced the Lenovo firmware on my T400 with libreboot. During this
process, I've also replaced the laptop's wifi chip with an Atheros AR9285
chipset.
It seems to me, like the new wifi chip is also recognized as
$ lspci
gives
$ ...
$ 02:00.0 Network controller: Qualcom
Was to easy in the end:
$ sudo service network-manager stop
$ service network-manager start
Immediately got connected to the wifi network.

I'm considering to buy a SSD to speed up my librebooted Thinkpad T400.
Have you got any recommendations on what SSD to get?
And, do I have to restrict my self in choosing the SSD to stay fully libre?

Following the steps in the tutorial solved the VPN connection issue for me.
When programming with python in general, you might want to have multiple
versions of python available - and even if not required by your developing
work, you still might want to separate the system python from the python
version you use for programming.

If I understand you correctly, you can connect to the Internet (without the
VPN) but once the VPN connection is established, you can't access any website
anymore. Am I reading you correctly? Also, have you tried connecting to the
VPN via the network manager GUI or the openvpn CLI?

So, in my case I also lost all internet connectivity once I have connected to
my VPN via the network manager GUI.
The same VPN however did work (i.e. I had internet connectivity) when I used
the command line to connect to the VPN like so
$ sudo openvpn /p

in /etc/apt/sources.list.d/riot-im/list was the culprit.
Removing this and importing the .gpg key in the "Authentification" tab made

by default, Enigmail uses gpg2 for key management.
Could you therefore please try to import the key on the command line with
gpg2 --import /path/to/public-key
and see if that works?

gpg2 --list-public-keys
You should also be able to see them in Icedove Mail > Enigmail > Key
Management.
