I'm using XFCE in Trisquel Belenos, installed via netinstall as I don't like
to have multiple desktop environments installed.
But every new version of GNOME applications (such as GEdit, Evince...) get
farther and farther away from the standards of other desktop environments. I
mean that
I've installed network-manager-gnome as the main WI-FI program, but you could
also choose wicd-gtk to manage connections in the panel.
You can tweak the colors in the Panel Preferences (The panel preferences can
be opened by going to Settings → Panel in your applications menu. You can

I've read quickly and found no great explicit worries. But we still need to
take a more close attention, as I am not expert on legal reading so may be a
small line compromising the project. And also because Hello relies on OpenTok
by TokBox to work.
I also like that openmailbox offers a owncloud service for free. I just
wanted 2GB instead of 1GB, although I wonder how hard it is to offer so much
space without being one of the big companies offering tracked-based ads.
By the way, openmailbox is still needing more donations for the 2015
Thank you for all the answers,
I'm glad it will be fixed, so I remebered of another bug (I still don't know
how to submit):
Abrowser is still sending downloaded file information to Google!!
As Firefox 32 onwards wants to prevent malicious software from being
downloaded, and I think
yes, I use this tool also, but I just changed the configuration file in
/etc/laptop-mode/conf.d/cpufreq.conf
from:
BATT_CPU_GOVERNOR=ondemand
to:
BATT_CPU_GOVERNOR=powersave
Another powerful tool is the powertop, already in the repository.
Documentation is here:
Just for the record, as I saw onpon4's bug report for this tab issue, I
submitted a new bug report for the Google tracking:
https://trisquel.info/en/issues/13039
I use Abrowser in permanent private mode, and with the new update the new
tab page is showing insteresting sites sponsored by Mozilla partners
according to a help page. There is a linked Privacy Policy page , but I
still don't trust any of this.
Am I wrong or is this a move towards what
I decided to just uninstall gnash (as it seems to be inactive since early
2012, unfortunately) and I am watching all from HTML5.
Is it possible that Midori isn't just loading from HTML5? Because Abrowser
does this automatically for YouTube (and other supported sites) when it has
no flash
I've installed Trisquel 7 Console Environment via netinstall as a step to
install XFCE without any other desktop enviroment.
However, I can't sucessfully connect to the internet from there. I've tried
pluging an ethernet cable but it didn't worked.
So I've tried to follow theses
Hi, yes, I'm trying to do something similar right now, with XFCE.
You must use the NetInstall iso, and choose Trisquel Console Environment
The inspiration is in this page from documentation:

I'm trying to build a XFCE version of Trisquel 7 without GNOME or LXDE
pre-installed, and just one problem remains: using gdm for Login Manager
requires too much GNOME libraries, and I find difficult to tweak it (as for
LightDM).
What is the Login Manager program for Trisquel Mini, and how
Indeed we should celebrate! One good news after another, Free Software
advances!
thanks for all the answers, great options!
Hi,
I've downloaded a file .ttf, a True Type Font, but when I click and ask to
search for a program able to install it, there is no return.
When I used Ubuntu, I remember a GUI program that installed fonts that way.
Does anyone know how? Or how to install via command line?
I use the non-GNU, but still free as in freedom Pinta for images and Xournal
for pdfs when just simple and quick editing tools are enough.
I had this problem too,
so I ran the select best server at the applications sources (sorry if this
is not the official translation, as my system is in Portuguese.
I switched to fr.archive.trisquel.info
and also to ftp instead of html.
Maybe we have to use the different servers, to avoid
I think the beauty is important too, because it can show to new people that a
truly free system can be wonderful in a glance.
Although is important to worry about desktop environments that require too
much memory: many people outside Europe and North America still have

to join the efforts helps the free community to grow strong, and the IceCat

hello,
thanks for the tips,
but I really don't know what is a chipset.
I thought mine was built-in (because I don't plug anything from USB), but
when I ran the two commands you told, I just get a Bluetooth mention for the

Hi,
My bluetooth does not work properly in Trisquel. In fact, it rarely turns on,
when I turn the Wireless button on, showing me the other Bluetooth devices
and giving the options (such as visibility).
Most of the time it just says disabled, and no matter if I try to turn it
on and off.
I have the same interest, an excelent organizer for documents like Shotwell
does for pictures and Banshee does for music, for example.
As for now, I've found Referencer (https://launchpad.net/referencer), which
is on the Trisquel official repo. I think it can't do everything I wanted, as
I have installed Sigil by an unofficial deb package

Not a good solution indeed, but just a quick one. I hope to find Sigil one
day in repo.
