soon released (v8-Jessie) will packages for Trisquel be updated to mach this

Well I open VLC, choose to play form the disk. The disk starts to spin, then
go to rest. Nothing more happens. (No video - no sound - no error messages).
Will try to download libdvdcss and compile it.

What is the "easiest" way to play a DVD and also rip it in Trisquel v7 ?
I have tried to play it in VLC but it does not work. I guess it is
encoding/DRM issues? How to do this with a GNU/Linux installation without
installing properitary software?

Where do you find your applications (like icons - not hencing to cli
applications). (In a gnome shell or unity you can search for them, but how to
do this in standard trisquel install?)
It is great with freedom - Isn't it ? :) I think unity suites me ok, because
I'm not that familiar with linux on the desktop.

Do I need to install Unity again and if yes - how? Previous apt-get install

result in a "unmet dependencies" for libpango1.0-dev and libcairo2-dev.

Just to let you know. Trisquel on my iMac (2008).
After trying the live cd properly I decided to wipe osx and install Trisquel
on the HD. So far so good Tx to the developers/maintainers of
Debian/Ubuntu and Trisquel.

Will try the live cd first. I'm in no need for the WiFi to work as it is
connect with wire and 3D i don't do anyway. It's mostly used for design
(paper print), some development and the usual internet stuff.
