There is not the right thing, it only another option. Much better to update
the kernel and the xorg.
I think problem is with the last update of the Trisquel's repository. Try
again when the repositories will get update. Check this date:

Trisquel Mini 7 RC has problem with polkit (impossible to mount disks, open

No, never a crash with Abiword for me
Why now Trisquel 7 install "systemd" instead "systemd-shim" with a
installation via the Internet?
I have installed Trisquel Belenos (7) with the netinstall many times and
until one week ago the script only installed systemd-shim. I realized that
something has changed because it seemed systemd-journald.service.
If I remove "systemd" the system proposes to install "systemd-shim" but I had
problems to turn off my machine (stuck) so I leave "systemd" alone.
I will wait to install Flidas in order to have an init system only.
I think now will be better to activate the Journal log:
sudo nano /etc/systemd/journald.conf
[Journal]

mode install but they are missing (in to repository) two very important
software for me. "wicd-curses" and "mplayer".
Why? It's too early or there is a licence problem with these packages?
