Sorry if I'm wrong, I had problems for understanding your answer because I'm
not a native speaker (I'm Chilean :P):
With my post I don't tried to address your problem (or Heater Jr. one). I
only said that the kind of books that mangeur posted are mandatory.
Now, if you ask my opinion, I don

Well, I'm Sophomore and I have to read Fahrenheit 451 by June 20th. We can
say that some of these books are mandatory ;)
Searx JavaScript code is proprietary??
Yes, there are a lot of programs missing.
The build script needs 6GB of RAM! :O
> The JavaScript-based player is fully-featured as far as I know.
The YouTube player is proprietary!!
The best way to watch youtube videos is using a third-party script to
download them.
Nickman, you can try using youtube-dl (in Trisquel repos), downloadhelper
(https://downloadhelper.net) o
That could be insteresting for you:

You don't need to care about that when you use DDR3L ;)
In looks only. I know that KDE has very more functions than Cinammon. I
recommend it if you have at least 4GB RAM, but with 2GB should work too.
These features are also available in GNOME Shell, but I like simplicity and
speed, then I prefer MATE and Xfce (Gnome Fallback is OK too).
I tested Cinammon, and it looks very great! It has some similarities with
KDE.

They only accept computers with Libreboot. After that they don't gave more
information. RMS uses a Thinkpad X60, the first computer compatible with a
free BIOS.
The server infrastructure uses Trisquel, I suppose that most FSF's computers
are X200 and T400.
Hello freedom defenders! After running "Software & Updates", I had a problem
compiling C++ programs: /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libstdc++.so.6: version

It's a linking problem...
Then I solved it linking statically: g++ -o blitz blitz.cpp -static
This "solved" the pr

Nor IceCat nor Abrowser are in Debian because Debian developers do not
decided to add them. In Debian you can use Firefox, which is free (maybe?).
> The only real advertised way to contact me regarding the site is through
twitter (@goblinrefuge).
Can we contact you through Trisquel forum also?
Yes, of course! And you can install it into your hard drive.
Thank you!
I think you can download a big (not huge) file, and track the download speed.
If your download fails (in Abrowser happens when the connection it's
unstable) then the connection isn't stable enough. Unfortunately, Abrowser
does not have a verbose mode.
Also you can download something trough
Thanks for answering! A question, EOMA68 computer cards ships with Libreboot
or it uses another boot firmware?
Stable version will come before if we contribute!

It's not necessary to make a free distribution from another which is also
free (like gNewSense with Debian) or a distribution which is easy freeable
(like Ututo XS and Gentoo). Now, Ututo has another goal in mind, but that
isn't bad.
What about Chromebook C201?
You can use system-monitor: Trisquel -> System conf -> System Monitor
Audio works fine on Lubuntu? If not, it's possible that the jack device has a
problem. I had to repair my headphones last week because it don't worked
correctly.
Also, Trisquel Mini is well-known to have problems with Midori and other
apps. I recommend install regular Trisquel and then inst
What computer do you use?
You can't add a user with three or more words, you must use at most two words
in your user name or make something like "name1_name2_name3".
How do you make wifi works?
I have a Dell laptop and there are specific instructions about how to change
the internal Wifi card. I don't think that all models of companies you list
enforce DRM.
> which are obviously unjust
100% d'accord
The problem is that your Wifi card isn't compatible with free software
(frimware) because the manufacturer decided to only provide a binary blob
(propietary, of course) without the source code. Trisquel nor another
FSF-endorsed distribution don't provide propietary firmware

You can use two: "name1_name2 name3" or "name1 name2_name3" ;)
Write the error message and post it here.
Excuse me! I haven't read correctly the card name. Most Qualcomm cards are
freedom friendly, with exception of a few models.
Thanks for the info!! I'll use it...

But Midori is incompatible with Firefox extensions!
Thanks for the news! What are the changes?
I think that these apps included by default (for Internet) are fine:
-IceCat with LibreJS
-Icedove with Enigmail
-Pidgin
-Ekiga
-Transmission
Please include Kazam
-MyPaint
-gThumb
-Simple Scan
I think that a group of expert users of Trisquel and in processors
architecture should port Trisquel 8 for ARM, Rubén is very busy now and I
prefer that he works in new versions of Trisquel instead of port it to other
architectures.
You can see the user manual, or see behind the monitor for a sticker with the
monitor info.
Thank you!
EOMA68 uses ARM?
I never heard about a Trisquel port to ARM. Every day I learn something new
(sorry for my bad english, but I make that I can).
Hello, and welcome to the forum! :)
1.If you want a FSF-endorsed GNU/Linux distro based on Debian, you can see
for gNewSense: gnewsense.org
Ubuntu LTS also has 5 years of support.
The Trisquel main goal isn't be steps ahead in technology. Instead, is to
provide a fully free operating system
Please accept my merge request, it contains many improvements and it
also checks if a license is GPL-compatible.
T500 is the most powerful: https://tehnoetic.com/tet-t500
Exactly!
No
This isn't a bad idea, but the process isn't transparent. Also, that don't
solve the main problem.
The better idea is create a separate repository with only free software with
free dependencies. This will help to spread the message than non-free
software is injust and unethical, and with th
gcc and g++ for compiling programs from the source code.
