I just pointed all that because I know the story of a vegan family that lost
their child negating him the nutrients that come in meat (yes I know, there
are vegetal alternatives) but the only point was to remember that if you do
it the wrong way you can harm you (and yes ther is the other
I agree with you, it would like that people wasn't as dependant in technology
as they are. It's quite sad to see in a cafe toghether with friends and just
looking to their cellphones not talking to each other. But always remember,
we Human Beings are social beings, we depend for our health
Well I think I'll give my opinion on these topic. Probably much of what I'll
say has already been said but anyways.
If you can't make friends with other peoble because you don't use facebook,
skype or others then those people are not worth having as friends. Real
friends will always prefer
Yes, I had the same idea as I also wanted to have my own web page, the
problem is, my internet really sucks (disconnects all the time) and I don't
have an static IP either (I guess there are some alternatives to this point).
Maybe it's time to talk with my internet provider ...
I checked riseup's site but I don't know how to get an invitation ticket :/
Currently I'm using google's email service but I would like to move onto a
provider that respected my freedom, but I do not know any alternatives, could
you suggest some? The only requirement is that it has to be free (in cost) as
I have no way of paying for it.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought that both Meldown and Spectre had no
other solution on existing hardware that implementing a patch on the linux
kernel, which does have some overhead. So I don't really see where is the
problem.
Thanks for your answer, but webkit is a different story from webengine, could
you check if the libqt5webengine5 package is available on trisquel?
Currently I'm running parabola and when I tried to install QGis I noticed
that qt5-webengine was not available which was weird as I had installed
KDevelop which depended in the same package before and I don't remember
having any problems with the installation, so what has happened? If the
And as another question, what is your opinion about having a powerful
computer running non-free software but just as a working machine (for all the
task It is needed) and having my personal computer running only free software
and giving instrutions to this "powerful slave" over ssh or
I was considering just using it while OpenDroneMap was developing the GPU
support (I even thought of helping them archive this but I'm not so sure if
I'm capable enough) and becouse they want me only to know how the program
works I think I'll test it and learn it in my notebook (which sadly
Leaving aside the fact that without binary blobs you don't get 3D
acceleration do AMD cards also have propietary software inside?
I would like to ask 2 questions about graphics cards:
1.- I'm running parabola with a Nvidia GT730 on my computer and yet when I
run glxinfo I get "direct rendering: Yes", but how is this posible?, I mean,
wasn't it necesary to have a binary blob to get 3D acceleration? If I got all
my
Introduction:
I've been running only free software for a while and there hasn't been any
reason to change this as for all my tasks there was a free software
alternative, but recently I was invited to be part of a practice/kind of work
related with photogeometry taking photos of some terrain
Yeah, but with three different distros each one with different versions of
NetworkManager? And Parabola for example uses wifi-menu which also does not
work
Well, I have just tried to do what you told me to in both Parabola (Mate iso)
and Trisquel and it still didn't work,
it continued timing out and sometimes asked again for the password, and I'm
pretty sure I typed it correctly because I checked it at least twice. Is it
possible that my router
The original card was not compatible but the card I'm using now is:
https://h-node.org/wifi/catalogue/en/1/1/undef/undef/undef/undef/wifi-works/undef?search_string=ar9227=Search
Yeah, sorry for the delay, I tried the command but did not work either
Thanks for all your help. At the end I bought a repeater and I now use it as
an external antenna so I can connect to Internet using a ethernet cable
connected to it. I installed Parabola (I do like trisquel but I prefer to
always have the latest packages) and everything is working now
Just tried out and did not work either. Could there be any differences
between the ath9k module of linux and the one that linux-libre has? After
all, the only distros not working are those with linux-libre (even when they
are supposed to)
The story goes something like this. I wanted to move to a completely Free
Software distro, and when I tried a Trisquel image on my PC I couldn't get my
wireless hardware to work (the problem resulted to be privative firmware
dependant hardware), so I bought a card that was supposed to work
