Is there a way to change my account picture through the GUI (in other words,
without saving it as ~/.face)? Coming from Debian, I was able to do this and
also resize/crop it that way.
Also, the login screen does not show my picture after making the change.
I cannot change the picture via Users and Groups.
Yes, this worked for me as well. The change was applied instantly.
Thanks!.

How do I change the account picture in Trisquel? (Not the forum)
Find a pic you like, process it with gimp, and save as ~/.face.png
That didn't work, the picture is a 100x100 px PNG with transparency.
Is only ~/.face. You can see hidden files in the File Manager (nautilus) with
Ctrl + H.
My bad!
I looked in the terminal, sure enough, it's '~/.face'. When in
Nautilus, I moved cursor over the pic, and orca said png image, after
.face; I miss read.
I didn't notice the '.' denoting a hidden file.
It worked! I logged out, then I noticed the new picture I chose as my account
picture. I logged in again, then the bottom menu bar didn't show up, so I
logged into tty2, then restarted the computer, then the bar showed up again.
I don't know if that glitch had anything to do with the changed
I haven't had the disappearing panel problem in a long while.
I don't know why it's happen. But you can fix it (when happen) with Alt + F2
typing gnome-panel and enter. Or Ctrl + Alt + T (open the terminal) typing
the same above.
Next time my machine does the Disappearing Panel trick, I'll just
restart it as you suggest; thanks.
