I didn't completely follow, still...
I just felt someone should say that in case t3g didn't know. :)
He will probably in a year or so complain about trisquel 9 not being
released. Just a guess...
Personal preference, I prefer fresh installs as in place upgrades can have
unplanned surprises.
Great job! Downloading mini version for wifes 12 year old Gateway latpop, I
prefer fresh installs over upgrades.
I will also test-run the main version on the desktop.
...download Triskiello 6...
That would be telling, but I found Taranis.
https://archive.org/download/Trisquel4.0.1LtsTaranis/trisquel-i18n_4.0.1_amd64.iso
Congrats and cheers!
*btw, does anyone know where can I download Triskiello 6? 8 is just too much
modern for my taste. :P
I have Trisquel 7 running on a Lenovo Thinkpad X200 that I got from Vikings.
Is it safe for me to upgrade to Trisquel 8? Is there any software that could
end up breaking or stop working as a result of this upgrade?
What are the advantages of upgrading to Flidas from Belenos?
Thanks!
Thank you very much.
do-release-upgrade worked.
On Flidas :-)
cALMSTORM
To be able to complain, is an art form of speech to me, but for someone to be
indicating, insinuating or perpetrating hes personal narrative is just a
monologue conversation..
Just upgrade and shut up and be happy is freaking free.!
LOL
Amen to that!
ACC Academic Computer Club at UmeƄ University Sweden has a mirror that has
been updated to include Trisquel 8.
https://ftp.acc.umu.se/mirror/trisquel/iso/
Well done. Thank you to everyone involved for making this release happen.
Horrah! Kudos to all the folk involved. A wonderful piece of work here. Also
I can finally install it on a Libreboot system from the GUI, had been having
lots of trouble with that for the past few months.
> Where is the public pgp key for the .asc file ?
Same place as the isos:
https://cdimage.trisquel.info/trisquel-images/trisquel-archive-signkey.gpg
The link is displayed in the download results page.
> Why not sign the hash files instead of the .iso ? or both ?
Both are, e.g.
PS, T3g if you are looking at this thread, you can stop complaining and just
upgrade. ;)
Well, I am impressed Quidam, how did you go from, testing, to stable in 12
days?
Doesn't testing to stable usually take a whole lot longer? It does in debian
anyways...
hmm... Let's test this on my other laptop.
At least!
Remember to share the news with your friends.
Congrats, everyone!
Sent from T8 on a USB. :D
Thanks for the great work.
I have three questions:
Where is the public pgp key for the .asc file ?
Why not sign the hash files instead of the .iso ? or both ?
Why put a separate file for each hash ?
Awesome. Get them in early.
The safest method is to use update-manager (graphical) or do-release-upgrade
(text).
In case anyone is wondering when they can start posting whiny "where is
Trisquel 9" threads, here's a countdown clock.

Congratulations, everybody!
You didn't give up and achieved something great.
Marvellous news. I'm in the pub at the moment. Looking forward to finishing
up my back ups and doing a fresh install. Thank you to everyone. Today is a
good day.
Awesome! Thanks so much to quidam, jxself, gnutastyc, etc. for their hard work.
Trisquel is an extremely important project. I'm thankful to be a part of this
community.

Congratulations!
How safe is it now to
sudo apt-get dist-upgrade
from Trisquel 7?
Nice! Please help others download it by seeding the torrent!
Please don't download directly from cdimage.trisquel.info, go to
https://trisquel.info/download and use the mirror selector! The main server
is getting slammed (nice problem to have...).
Two screenshots.
Wow, the forum has a new background to match the release of Flidas.
