Ok well I tried it again and switched the key to my key. However now I get the error: gpgme gave error GPGME:11: Bad passphrase however I was never even propmpted to enter my GPG passphrase.

You cannot sign using the trisquel gpg key, you need to change the id to your own key. There must have been some change in the way the devel repos are generated or signed since #30, but in any case that error is expected.
