Do you now if you get stuck at GRUB or after it (when the Linux kernel boots)? In the latter case, reinstalling GRUB is useless. Once "stuck", can you log into a text session after typing Ctrl+Alt+F2 (what would indicate a sole graphical issue)? If you cannot, have you tested your RAM with
