Hi, Did you have any luck with GRUB payload ? I'm trying to build a custom coreboot rom with GRUB payload for my KGPE D16. The GRUB payload works fine if I use onboard graphics but not if I use a dedicated GPU (GTX 680) No issues with Seabios with GTX680 though. So I have extracted the GRUB

Thanks for the link ! Very nice wiki. It almost worked in my case.. almost. coreboot boots : OK seabios payload launch wth external GPU : OK GRUB2 launch : Fail -> "prefix error variable not set" I think this has something to do with the modules.. I will try to build a clean GRUB2 with the tip

I will probably sell my KGPE in a couple of weeks. A bit of overkill for my needs. Now I'm using exclusively a G41 setup, which works great, integrated GPU, raid card.. very comfy. I gave up trying to tweak coreboot (on KGPE) to make it work with external GPU & GRUB xD

Hi leah, That's a great idea. I considered it a couple of weeks ago but don't have enough knowledge to set this up.. It would great though. Is that possible ? I'll be glad to try it.

In my case it's even worse, if the external GPU is plugged in (GTX 660 or GTX680), the board won't "boot" (fans spins that's it) At first I've thought maybe I would eventually get a video output when the linux kernel starts but nothing. I even tried to connect a serial to USB cable to see if

> "Wait, so it boots fine with Coreboot then? What else would you need?" Full freedom with Libreboot ! :D Why is it working with coreboot but not libreboot ? I opened a bug report here : https://notabug.org/libreboot/libreboot/issues/207

Ah, so you suspect some possible non-free component still in there. Libreboot is a coreboot distribution (distro) with proprietary software removed, intended to be a free (libre) ‘BIOS’ replacement for your computer. (...) Coreboot distributes certain pieces of proprietary software which is

I guess it is enough indeed. I'm still running coreboot to answer your question. Only need to solve the issue with grub.cfg and I'll be able to boot from fully encrypted hdd then. ^^ I would like to know why the libreboot rom isn't working while the coreboot one is. minifree solds those kg

I admire your dedication hack and hack to make it work. :D There must be something wrong with the GRUB payload I've built for KGPE. I tried several grub.cfg but I still get "error prefix not found" when GRUB starts. At least I have a video output with dedicated GPU. I re-used the grub.cfg i
