Step 1 was to agree on a name. There was an announcement some months back
that a name had been chosen, and development started:

Jodiendo isn't using Trisquel 9. If you want to ask questions or share
suggestions about Trisquel 9 development, the next Freedom Friday
meeting is probably the place to do it. 11am EST.

It seems Jodienda knows moar about it, they are already installing stuff on
T9 (nine)..

I'm thrilled we finally have Trisquel 8. I was wondering if there is some
form of start date or initiation action that happens when we start Trisquel
9. When do we start?
I'm particularly interested in decentralizing the development so it is
somehow easier for everyone to contribute.
