Looks like too much trouble. After restartiing Abrowser, I have no java warning, but I fail to completely download or make the .exe work (error, and no way to run it in sandbox mode). I'll try to run Windows on a virtual machine.

I also tried the version 6 but there's still some loading error (not much to work on) that doesn't exist on Windows. It's nearly working, but not yet. I tried updating everything and restarting the PC. Don't mind the outdated OS warning though, it happens on Windows as well. Is there some par

Why would you use version 6? That's the ancient version of Java. Use version 7 or even version 8.

Sorry, I meant that since the 7 didn't work as I thought, I tried the 6 as well. So I guess I should try the 8 from a ppa?

That might be worthwhile. If that doesn't work, you might be out of luck. Perhaps you should ask your employer to supply a computer that will work with these programs. What's it for, anyway?

I don't know what it is for exactly, it isn't for me. I suppose it's something about scheduling, but I might be completely wrong. I'll try to get the latest version. If it fails, I'd rather install a Qemu/KVMed Windows just for that, with all the sandboxing I can find. Another computer takes th

One option might be Firefox in Wine. Perhaps you install IcedTea implementation that way? Then maybe you can fool the program into making it think it is in a compatible browser.
