i wish I had the ability to program the DVR remotely. however, I finally
figured out VPN to my home network so I can set a download of a tv show
from USENET which auto-injects to my Plex Server, which I can then
sync-download to my tablet without VPN.

This was a great example of why I love being able to program my DVR from afar.
I'm visiting my mother this weekend. No problem with the last minute
announcement. The show will be waiting for me when I get home.

That was indeed Este Haim. In fact, all three of the Haim sisters (all of whom
front the band, Haim) were there, the other two standing behind Este, further
to the left as you look at the screen. Neither of them are as tall or as
blonde as Este, though, so they don’t attract as much attention.
By the way, there was way too much Jimmy Fallon in the Prince tribute.
They could have easily cut his opening comments in half and it would
have been more poignant. But maybe they were looking to fill time.

Good luck everyone with season six of Game of Thrones. Stuffed full of
Brits doing a range of regional British accents!

Various commenters online identify her as Este Haim, one of the members of,
well, Haim. I'm possibly out of the group's demo, as I'd never heard of either.

Who is the tall blonde to Maya Rudolph's right during the after party song?

I am going to disagree with this a little, and encourage anyone who
recorded it to FF to the end, even if they can't take mu
Oh, wait a second…I get it now. “There wasn’t a cold open once this week,” and
that once was Thursday night.
Odd phrasing, but ignore me…I’m caught up. :)

Are we using a different definition of “cold open”? There was a cold
open *every* night this week, except Thursday.

Tuesday – Abe Lincoln and Robert E. Lee sucking face behind Colbert’s

To be fair, while the After-Party performance may not have been Prince at
his best, what makes it cool is the context, and people like Fallon, Rock
and, at one point, JZ hopping up on stage to sing back-ups. It is amazingly
cool in the way it might be if Prince suddenly appeared on stage to jam at

The after party video was interesting to see. Yes, the setup was long but
it set the scene for 4 am pretty well.

The SNL tribute was a classic example of fitting 60 minutes of content into
a 90-minute program. It's not a spoiler to point out that the last
half-hour or so was several episodes of "The Prince Show", when one would
have been more than suff
