While the guests are still videoconferencing in, both the CBS late night hosts are back in their respective buildings. Colbert is doing the show from the office building above the Ed, in what is supposedly a recreation of his actual offices. Various staffers are present, and Mrs. Colbert is off camera as usual (for how long is unclear). Jon Batiste and company are still remote. Stephen had a good interview with Dr. Jon LaPook focused on virus spread and vaccinations.
(side note: while I should have deduced this earlier, Colbert was shooting from whatever home he has in South Carolina, and not from NJ) The Late Late Show production opted to revamp their stage for an audience-free production (though there sounds like more than a few staff in the studio). The band is now stage right, and more spaced out. The desk is more central, and in a sign of optimism, there are two club chairs set out like they are for Conan's studio show. James sits in one, and the other is swapped out for a big monitor. Corden's show opens with a bit where British Jimmy hurts himself repeatedly. Depending on your feelings about him, you may or may not want to watch. David -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "TVorNotTV" group.
