My considered opinion is that dad's sitch is not going to significantly
change for months or even years.

I'm going to be on here less than I have been, as he has expressed a desire
to use our computer again, meaning nothing during the day. I have two eye
dr appointments Thursday, so maybe if our friend visits, she'll persuade
him...
Problem is, his memory still isn't great; the last time this hap

He's shot even that down... his dinner is going to be *soup*, and in enough

impossible; the answers he's seeking sometimes aren't so simple, like, say,
whether there's a public email address for the (rather famous) company that
makes his favorite (smoking) lighter. (I don't believe there is, as the
Dad just had a followup visit with the ophthalmologist, and got a
prescription for new glasses. We're surmising that insurance *could* cover
it, as his existing pair is reportedly north of two years old. The optician
they recommended, tho, will be on vacation for about a month.

To update, no significant developments, but a different ophthalmologist has
entered the fray, tho his plan is basically to replace the
really-complicated lens over dad's left eye with one that's at least a
very-shady, if not solid, cover. Obviously glasses + a patch would have
been a bit much.
